Costa del Sol
Museo de Arte Precolombino Felipe Orlando
It is located in the heart of Benalmádena Pueblo, this museum is a unique cultural space in Andalusia for housing one of the most important collections of Pre-Columbian American artefacts in Spain, with samples of crafts from Mexico, Peru, Nicaragua, Colombia and Ecuador.
The two great civilisations of Pre-Columbian America, Mesoamerica (Ancient Mexico) and the Central Andes (Ancient Peru), constitute the two nuclei around which the collection is organised.
The centre also has a collection of archaeological pieces found in different parts of the town, which constitute a journey through the history of the municipality, from its first settlers, with remains more than 5,000 years old, to the present day.
